Preparations before Rafael gets here!

The guys all showed up just after 7am, but had to hang out on the front porch because of the rain.  Luckily, the rain didn't last too long and they were able to get a start on the morning preparations.

Hurricane Rafael is supposed to pass by the island, around 105 nautical miles to the east-southeast, by 8pm tonight, so the guys wanted to at least get some building materials over here and have the trench dug for the concrete footing during the morning.

Unloading block from the truck
Chris uses the Bobcat to stack the block along the side of the house
Johnny digs the trench with the Excavator, while Tony and Chris remove the rubble
The trench has been dug to contain the concrete footing

I added this last picture to show where the "trash condo" will be built.  No one usually uses these steps to get to the house, so it made sense to build the "trash condo" there and not take up any space from the parking area.

The guys will return on Thursday morning.  By then, the weather will be much nicer and they should be able to have the wall and the initial structure for the "trash condo" built by the end of the day.
