The wall begins!

The guys had to work on another job, this morning, and arrived here early in the afternoon.  The familiar sound of the concrete mixer soon began and it was just like old times!  I had to get up on the roof to patch up a crack that became evident during the night Hurricane Rafael passed by, but I managed to get several pictures of the progress during the afternoon.

William and Ryan begin mixing the concrete
Ryan dumps a load of concrete for the wall footing
John Sr. drives a support stake inside one of the block cells
Tony checks to ensure the blocks are level
The wall begins to take shape
Chris puts additional support stakes into the block cells
William delivers another batch of concrete
Tony uses the jackhammer to trim the excess concrete, while Chris shovels it behind the wall

As you can see, the wall runs along a slope on the Avenue, which meant the guys had to stop and take several measurements to ensure the wall will be strong and, of course, level.  Building will continue throughout the day, tomorrow, and I'm sure this section of the wall will be finished and ready for plastering by the end of the afternoon.
