Thursday Update

Another nice weather day, although it was a bit windy, and plenty of work got done around here. The pit access covers got put on and then the pit was covered over, ready for parking.  To prove just how much confidence our contractor, John, has in his work, I watched him park his jeep truck on the pit first thing this morning!

Only 17 hours after the concrete top for the pit was poured!
Pit access covers concreted with metal handles attached
The pit is now covered and the parking area leveled off

The remaining walls in the window-well were plastered and measurements were taken for the iron grating to sit on top of the opening.

The master bedroom/bath area needed to be dug down a bit lower, then channels were cut out to make way for the water pipes to be placed.

John gives Johnny instructions for the additional digging requirements
Digging deeper for the master bedroom/bath foundation
The water pipes will be located in these channels

The last task of the day was to form up the current downstairs steps to make them wider.  Tomorrow, concrete will be poured and the additional area leveled off.

I'm hoping the weather will continue to be good tomorrow and allow for yet another productive day.
