Wednesday night post

Thought I'd add an additional blog post tonight, since Troy is working late on the electrical requirements  We wanted to be sure the radio room and office were completely ready to have the rest of the ceiling and wall installed by the construction team, on Friday.

Troy put the remaining 3-inch PVC pipe in the wall, which will allow me to get my various antenna cables into the radio room from outside.  In the following picture, you'll see the grey PVC pipe running down the inside of the wall.  Just up a bit and to the right of that pipe is the smaller pipe I put in the wall, several days ago.  This houses the thick electrical wire, which is attached to a copper ground rod out in the window well.  The ground wire will eventually be attached to a copper ground strip behind my desk and I'll connect smaller pieces of electrical wire from there to each of my radios and other equipment.

After finishing in the radio room, Troy went back to the office room and channeled out a couple of walls in order to run conduit in those areas.  The first picture shows where an internet line will be run to provide access for a second work station.  The next picture shows a large hole leading out to the front of the house, next to the chimney, where we will bring in the telephone, cable tv and internet lines in an underground pipe from outside.

As mentioned in my earlier post, the plan is to pour the concrete slab for the master bedroom/bathroom on Monday, so Troy has been setting up the electrical outlet conduits in that area.  We were both remarking how pleasant it is outside tonight, which is unusual for March.

Troy is still outside, so I'd better go out and make sure the cats aren't bothering him!.  He'll be back again, tomorrow evening, to continue the electrical work.
